“The Village” - March, 15, 2013
On Saturday, April 13, you are invited to join other supporters of the Village of Love for the exciting fundraising evening of Afro-centric dance, drama and song, “Village of Love: A Journey to Freedom,” at 7pm, Runnymede United Church, 432 Runnymede Rd.
Here are four ways YOU can support this event:
- BUY TICKETS. $25. GROUP of 5 or more, $20. Includes refreshments and doorprizes. TICKET INFORMATION
- DONATE TICKETS. If you are not available to attend, perhaps you would donate a ticket for someone who cannot afford it. Purchase the ticket and send an E-MAIL to let us know that you won’t be attending.

Dramatist Dienye Waboso; African Dance Troupe, “Twamsifueli,” Caribbean Folk Singers, “The Heritage Singers Canada.”
The Heritage Singers Canada, an internationally known Caribbean Folk Group, will be sharing their “Slavery Suite.”

“Journey to Freedom”

Through vibrant African rhythms, Twamsifueli will lead us on the Journey to Freedom!
“Journey to Freedom: The Joshua Glover Story.” In a compelling one woman performance, Dienye Waboso plays the part of nine characters to bring to life the true story of escaped slave Joshua Glover as he finds his way to Montgomery’s Inn, Toronto, via the Underground Railroad.
