COVID EMERGENCY ACTION
Many believe today that the main issue for the impoverished of the world is not dying of COVID-19, but of starvation, as a result of limited business possibilities.
This appears to be true for residents of the Kibera slum community, including the 90 women and over 600 children who are part of Kijiji Cha Upendo (Village of Love).
With COVID curfew restrictions, day labour in Nairobi is difficult. Without buying power in the community, small businesses are failing.
The situation is now desperate. Mothers have little or no food for their children.
Our families depend on us for food baskets.
We urgently need to raise an extra $2,000 a month until the COVID crisis ends. This will ensure our families have food and safety measures against COVID.
